Introducing MaxolCtMaxGT.gif (886 bytes)-----

a catalyst designed to meet your future

needs. Today.

As a world leader in FCC Technology, Engelhard not only responds to customer needs, we anticipate them -- so we've developed a state-of-the-art product specially formulated to address the need for a more selective, more active and more stable catalyst technology for use in producing environmentally acceptable transportation fuels. As we did it with your profitability in mind.

Why you need Engelhard's Maxol catalyst technology

  • Maxol catalyst technology enables you to meet future regulations for regulated gasoline, while increasing your profitability.
  • Through a shift in selectivity, this commercially-proven catalyst increases the relative proportion of C4 olefins without increasing your LPG yields.
  • Maxol has a broad range of potential applications that can increase your profits through the production of higher value products, such as:
  • developing reformulated fuels.
  • improving downstream processing
  • increasing light cut naphtha octane
  • optimizing both gas/oil and resid processing.
  • As the foremost leader in FCC technology, with widest range of catalyst products and technology in the world, Engelhard has the depth and experience to ensure you receive the superior products, technical expertise and quality service you deserve.

MAXOL CAN INCREASE YOUR OLEFINICITY...
AND YOUR PROFITABILITY.

It is commonly understood among refiners that the more gasoline, light olefins and distillate produced, the more profitable the refinery. C4 olefins, in particular, can be used to enhance octane, increase MTBE feed, and produce even more gasoline in the alkylation process.

Through its unique and proprietery composition, Engelhard's Maxol catalyst has been designed to shift selectivity to dramatically increase the relative proportion of C4 olefins in your product yield (Figure 1 and 2). What's more, Maxol catalyst technology can increase C4 olefinicity without a corresponding increase in LPG yields, thus avoiding yield-limiting and often costly downstream compression problems (Figure 3).

Maxol catalyst technology will provide:

  • greater flexibility in the creation of reformulated fuels;
  • improved downstream processing, in cases where there is a need for more alkylate and MTBE;
  • the flexibility to increase light cut naphtha octane, by blending more C4 olefins per unit of LPG; and even
  • additional profit opportunities through the sale of excess C4 olefins for the production of intermediate chemicals.

Finally, Maxol catalyst technology can be applied to a variety of processing applications. Its benefits are not exclusive to just resid or gas/oil processing. Which means refiners like you may be able to take advantage of its unique properties and enjoy the upside of greater refinery profits. If you are a refiner with specific needs in any of these areas, or a processor with a desire or need to increase C4 olefinicity and generate more profits, there's a good chance Maxol catalyst is the technological breakthrough you're looking for.
